BPI recognized for Reporting Greenhouse (GHG) Emissions

30 Dec 2015

BPI has been recognized for Reporting Greenhouse (GHG) Emissions for the year 2014 by the Lebanese Ministry of Environment.

Lebanon’s GHG emissions have increased by 27.6% since 1994 and are scheduled to be reduced 30% by 2030.

As part of BPI’s corporate social responsibility, it pledges decreasing its GHG emissions and increase the adoption of renewable energy in its operations especially that the industrial sector in Lebanon accounts for 9.62% of the total sources of emissions.

The inventories of GHG emissions form an essential element of the national environmental policy-making process. The data will assist in monitoring the progress of any abatement measures for the reduction of GHG emissions.
